Ecology & environmental protection for a more sustainable future

The values lived at Zauner shape a corporate culture that is geared towards sustainability. We are guided by the conviction that we must do something TODAY to keep life worth living for our future generations. We can only succeed in this if we strike a sensible balance between economic, ecological and social objectives.

Reducing waste

A key element of our corporate philosophy is to sustainably minimize the environmental impact of our activities and keep it as low as possible. We focus on the economical and efficient use of resources (especially raw materials) and on measures to reduce emissions.

Reducing energy consumption and emissions

We are aware of our role in our value network and make a decisive contribution to the overall reduction of GHG emissions. We see great potential in our new business areas, which make a significant contribution to climate protection. Through our contribution in the planning phase of projects, we have the opportunity to achieve a positive impact on climate and environmental protection.

Efficient use of materials

The complete presentation of the total footprint (Scope 3) is the basis for further measures to reduce CO2 emissions.
We want to make our use of materials even more efficient while protecting the environment. We therefore see making materials that have already been produced and supplied available again as an essential key to success. Often, these materials are not easily accessible and the necessary documentation is lacking. Instead of ordering new material, we would like to transparently process unused and returned materials in the future and make them available to other projects as construction reserves. In this way, we not only save costs, but also valuable resources and reduce unnecessary waste. With this sustainable measure, we want to live up to our responsibility for a better future.
In addition to production, the delivery of the material has a significant impact on CO2 emissions. Targeted direct delivery instead of intermediate storage in the magazine/warehouse reduces transport distances, material does not have to be handled several times and creates free magazine capacity. Resources are saved and the amount of waste can also be reduced.

Strengthening sustainability in the supply chain

The ongoing evaluation of our suppliers (dealers and subsequently manufacturers) is important to us in order to have a positive impact on our supply chain (e.g. awareness and data procurement) and to ensure the consistent quality of our services. We see ourselves as a partner to our customers and attach great importance to compliance with the relevant laws. Our high standards help us to identify potential weaknesses and new procurement opportunities at an early stage.

ZAUNERGROUP respects human rights and promotes their implementation in everything it does. No one is discriminated against on the basis of origin, gender, sexual orientation, religion, ideology, disability or age. The personal dignity, privacy and personal rights of each person are respected.

Our strategy

Forward-looking planning, the efficient use of resources and the will to constantly improve and develop are strategic core elements of ZAUNERGROUP. In annual strategy meetings, the strategic cornerstones are regularly reconsidered and, if necessary, realigned. In the spirit of sustainability-oriented action, it is our concern to extend the planning horizon to future generations. In the course of our sustainability project, we have already identified strategic thrusts for our business model that form part of future developments and are in turn subject to the guiding principle “We take responsibility”.

For me, responsibility means supporting the organization - especially the executives - in the best possible way to achieve their goals. The requirements and expectations of all stakeholders are essential markers and control points on the way to achieving our goals.
